So long, Cowboy

The neon cowboy being removed from Dixon StDoes anyone know what's happened to the neon cowboy sign outside what used to be Chevy's in Dixon St? It had been a sad shadow of its formerly bright self after the former Chevy's changed from Quarter to MVP, then a few weeks ago I saw it being loaded onto a truck. At the time, I hoped that it was just being removed temporarily for repairs, but it's been a while and there's now a naff little "Gaming" sign in its place.

So, has the lonesome cowboy gone West for good? That would be a dang shame, consarn it!

Bien sûr. The Simpsonian reference is completely accidental.

About two weeks ago I saw him on the motorway heading North on the back of a truck. I think it is safe to say he has been run out of town...

there used to be a big ol' cowboy a'twhirling his larriat, stuck plumb on the outside of a building in Orcland. Much the same, if not exackerly the same. Mebe he's the same one? Maybe he's just bin itching for a bot of exploring on the highway....

Supposedly in Ohakune or Auckland according to this post.

The Cuba Street striptease sign is about to be lost as well.

I work with the winner of the auction and he is pulling out of the sale so it may end up being trashed which would be a shame. Seriously considered taking it myself but it's just too big.
