Guess where?
Many of you have already discovered the fun of Flickr, and there's a new group there which is special interest to Wellingtonians. The Guess Where Wellington group was created by local photographers, based upon similar groups for overseas cities like London and New York.
The concept is simple: anyone can post photos of mysterious places and odd architectural details around the region, and anyone else can try to guess where the photo was taken. It's a bit like my Mystery Bar posts, but more general and more interactive (and easier on the liver). I like to think that I know Wellington inside out, but there are some truly baffling ones.
Thanks to Andrew for the link.

Bloody brilliant!
And a good waste of a morning!
radio active ?
Nope, not Radio Active (unless they've moved into town)
My take on this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/guymauve/39931421/
Okay, not really related, but a link you might find fun: http://www.flickr.com/photos/guymauve/
Sorry - I meant to say that the link includes scans of photos you might find fun. That is all.
That's the way I read it. Your version shows the colours so much more vibrantly than mine does: maybe I'll get around to buying a real camera someday!
Wellington may not have the elegant architectural uniformity of Paris or Bath, but it has these amazing contrasts and details from so many architectural eras, along with street art and touches of picturesque dereliction. That's what makes it a great place for this sort of visual flanerie, and your photos are among the best examples.
Victoria st, opposite Warehouse Stationery? Radio Active are in the tower above...
Nope, that was one of my other GuessWhere photos. This one's not far from Victoria St, but it's on a side street.
