K-block Nirvana

File under: ,

Expect worse than usual queues of SUVs between Karori and Lambton Quay this morning: the annual Kirks sale is on. From the look of some of the ladies queueing outside the doors this morning, it could be said that they could definitely do with some new clothes (anything designed after 1990 would be an improvement), but that would be snobbish and catty and not the sort of thing I'd say at all.

oh if only the sale was worthy of one's attention

gone are the hordes of women dragging their reluctant husbands around the menswear section

gone are the tiresome queues at cash registers strategically situated in the most isolated and narrow of spaces

gone are the thronging teems swinging large kirks bags full of swag around town

quite the let down if you ask me

but then you didn't so here's my two cents worth all the same

I called in as I was intrigued by the offer of a 'Truffle soup' at a greatly reduced price (something like $100 off!)

Sadly all 6 portions had sold - probably in the first 6 minutes of the sale.
